Snowpack Observations
Snowpack observed on NE-E aspects BTL (8800-10200′). HS ~80-130cm.
Generally saw a thinner and weaker snowpack as we traveled from the sled parking spot to the base of the Gem (E aspect, 8800-9400′, HS ~80-100cm, mostly faceted mid/lower pack).
The Gem held 30-40cm of unconsolidated storm snow from the past several days. Top 90cm was F->1F (top down) slab sitting on 30-40cm basal facets. Inconsistent test results: ECTN, CT21 (SC), and PST 20/100(end). No recent activity observed, no cracking, and no whumfing.
