Snowpack Observations
Widespread layer of surface hoar all through Way Rights, Third Pitch and the bogs, ranging in size from 5mm to 3cm+
Hasty Pit near the bottom of Way Rights @ 10,200′, NNE, HS135cm revealed a cohesive 100cm slab with Fist+ to Pencil gradual increase in hardness with depth, all sitting on a thin 1F hard facet layer above the October basal layer. CTN. Didn’t have time to test the problem layers.
Riding Quality
Not bad, but not that great either. Found a deep supportable snowpack on N aspects above 10K with up to 5″ of soft settled snow. Lots of snowmobile and snowbike tracks in Way Rights. Not a whole lot of skier traffic up there yet.
